Senate Bill 1453 clarifies that a speech-language pathologist (SLP) must receive written verification from certified Otolaryngologists (Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor) that the SLP has performed a minimum of twenty-five supervised flexible trans nasal endoscopic procedures in order to perform Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) on patients and that an SLP may perform these procedures at a location based on the patient’s medical needs.
