Senator Ochoa Bogh Announces Funding to Help Build Affordable Housing in the City of San Bernardino

Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh (R-Yucaipa) has announced that the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has awarded $500,000 in Local Early Action Planning (LEAP Program) grants to the city of San Bernardino.

“I thank the Department of Housing and Community Development for its effort to ensure the city of San Bernardino receives direct funds to help build affordable housing,” said Senator Ochoa Bogh, member of the Senate Housing Committee. “The awarded grant will fast-track housing production and will afford families in the Inland Empire a place that they can call home one day.”

The purpose of the LEAP Program is to provide funding to jurisdictions for the preparation and adoption of planning documents, process improvements that accelerate housing production, and facilitating compliance in implementing the sixth cycle of the regional housing need assessment (RHNA) and community outreach.
