Senator Ochoa Bogh Announces Funding to Help the Homeless in Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties

Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh (R-Yucaipa) has announced that the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has awarded more than $1 million in Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) to Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.

The HCD receives federal ESG funds for the purpose of preventing, preparing for and responding to families who are experiencing homelessness or are receiving homelessness assistance.

“I thank the Department of Housing and Community Development for its effort to ensure Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties receive direct resources to help combat homelessness,” said Senator Ochoa Bogh, member of the Senate Housing Committee. “This funding will help connect people who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness with vital services they need.”

The HCD receives federal ESG funds for the purpose of preventing, preparing for and responding to families who are experiencing homelessness or are receiving homelessness assistance.

The county of Los Angeles was awarded $1,120,909 to fund Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and rapid re-housing.

San Bernardino County was awarded $299,449 to fund homelessness prevention, rapid re-housing, and emergency shelters.

Riverside County was awarded $301,695 to fund homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing.
