Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh Honors Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House as Nonprofit of the Year

“The support and care the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House provides children and families’ receiving medical treatments is absolutely remarkable,” said Senator Ochoa Bogh. “I had the pleasure of touring the house and witnessed firsthand the exceptional work they do providing cost-free care and support to children and families in Southern California. They receive every family with compassion, respect and affection. Their work embodies the true nature of generosity.”

 

Opening on September 11, 1996, the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House has served more than 18,000 families. The House supports more than 54 families each night and room requests are sent directly from social workers at the hospital. Requests are reviewed on a daily basis based on diagnosis and distance. Each family is considered on a case by case basis based on room availability. The House is able to support many families through the backing of local community partners.

 

This recognition was part of a larger celebration of CalNonprofits’ “California Nonprofits Day” held last week. The recognition as a Nonprofit of the Year brings deserved attention to outstanding nonprofits while illustrating the remarkable diversity and vibrancy of California's nonprofit community.
